A Plain-English Guide to Dubai Desert Safari Packages
A Plain-English Guide to Dubai Desert Safari Packages
Blog Article
Picking a safari should be the easy part of your trip. But when you see ten different Dubai desert safari packages on one page, it's easy to get stuck. Do you need VIP? What's the point of a Hummer? Is a quad bike worth adding? We answer all of those questions below, in plain English.
At Dubai Safari Desert, we run trips all year round, from short morning rides to full nights in the desert. Here's how our packages compare, so you can pick the right one in a few minutes.
Three Questions to Ask Yourself
Before comparing prices, ask yourself three quick questions:
• Do you have a morning, an evening or a full night free?
• Would you rather drive yourself or be driven?
• Do you want extra comfort, or is the standard camp fine?
Once you know the answers, the right package is usually obvious.
The Evening Packages
Most people book an evening trip, and for good reason. You see the dunes in the golden light, watch the sunset and finish with dinner and shows under the stars. Every evening trip runs from roughly 2 PM to 9 PM.
Our Classic Evening Trip at AED 80
This is our best-value trip. The evening Dubai safari comes with 4x4 pickup, dune bashing, a camel ride, a buffet dinner and four live shows. If you just want the classic desert experience, this is the one.
The AED 100 Evening Trip
This option adds a few extras, such as sandboarding and henna, along with a BBQ dinner and pickup in an air-conditioned car.
The VIP Trip at AED 120
Want a better seat at the camp? The VIP Dubai safari gives you VIP seating, a BBQ buffet and four shows. It's a small step up in price, but the evening feels more relaxed.
The Premium Trip at AED 230
If you want the top level of service, go for the premium desert safari Dubai package. You get premium service throughout the evening, and you can add a quad bike if you like.
If You Want Some Speed
Some people want to do more than sit in the back of a car. These trips are made for them.
Safari With Quad Bike, AED 160
You get the full evening trip plus your own quad bike ride on the dunes. Timing is the same, about 2 PM to 9 PM, and groups of friends love it.
Buggy Plus Quad Bike at AED 200
Why choose between a buggy and a quad? Try both. The buggy and quad bike safari includes helmets and safety gear, with flexible timing.
Hummer Dubai Safari, AED 140
Riding over the dunes in a Hummer feels very different from a normal 4x4. The Hummer Dubai safari runs from about 2 PM to 9 PM, with the usual camp, dinner and shows at the end.
Morning and Overnight Packages
Sunrise Desert Safari Dubai, AED 140
Early risers will love the sunrise desert safari Dubai trip. It goes from around 8 AM to 11 AM, with photo stops on the dunes and water and soft drinks included. You're back by lunchtime, so the rest of the day is yours.
The Overnight Trip at AED 260
For the full desert experience, stay the night. Our overnight Dubai safari runs from around 2 PM until 9 AM the next morning. You get the evening programme, a night in the camp, stargazing and breakfast.
Drive Yourself for AED 40
If you have your own 4x4, the self drive safari costs only AED 40 per person. You meet us at our parking area at around 3 PM, and the evening ends around 9 PM. It's the lowest-cost way to enjoy the camp, dinner and shows.

What Every Trip Has in Common
Whichever package you pick, a few things stay the same. Our camps follow a traditional Bedouin style, with low seating, soft lights and plenty of space. Dinner has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Pickup and drop-off are confirmed 24 hours before your trip, so you know exactly when to be ready.
We also run trips from Abu Dhabi for AED 140, plus city tours of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Hatta, if you want to explore more of the country.
What a Typical Evening Looks Like
Your driver picks you up in the early afternoon. After a while, the buildings disappear and the dunes begin. The driver lowers the tyre pressure, and the dune bashing begins. The car goes up, over and down the dunes at angles that make everyone shout. It's bumpy, but it's a lot of fun.
Next, you stop on a high dune to watch the sunset. From there, you head to the camp for a camel ride, dinner and live shows. At around 9 PM, it's time get more info for the drive back to your hotel.
What If I Get Car Sick?
The drivers know these dunes very well and drive them daily. You wear a seatbelt the whole time. If you feel car sick easily, eat light and sit in the front. Pregnant guests, people with back problems and parents with babies should tell us when they book, and we'll suggest the best package.
Questions We Hear Every Day
Is the Hummer trip worth it?
Yes, if you want something that feels different from a regular 4x4. The Hummer is bigger and feels more powerful on the dunes, and it makes for great photos.
Which package is best for families?
Families usually choose the AED 80 evening trip or the AED 120 VIP trip. Kids love the camel ride and the shows.
Do prices include pickup?
Yes, pickup and drop-off come with every guided trip. The self drive package is the only one where you drive yourself.
Is there a dress code?
Light, loose clothes and comfortable shoes are best. In winter, a light jacket is a good idea for the evening.
Can I book for a big group?
Yes. Send us your group size and we'll arrange the right number of cars.
